Greenhouse Staff & Counselors

Cassidy Sumner - Manager and Counselor over Arts, Crafts, History & Current Events

"I feel so blessed to be a part of the Murray Greenhouse! These individuals uplift my life in so many ways. I’m honestly so excited to go to work on Mondays after a weekend of not seeing the “kids.” As staff and counselors, it is our job to make sure that the Greenhouse is a safe, fun, and comfortable place for the students, a place where they can make friends and feel that they are a part of something special. This is a job that I take very seriously. I love working with these sweet individuals and believe this foundation to be a perfect place for them to learn and grow."

Sallie Davis - Counselor over Spelling & Math

"I receive so much joy in working at the Murray Greenhouse. There is such a positive environment, that it is not only uplifting for the students but for the staff as well. I strive each day to create a fun atmosphere where the disabled may feel comfortable, safe and continually increase their knowledge and skills. We hope to plan activities that are designed to target all academic categories and levels."

Kristy McQueen – Counselor over Personal Goals, PE & Computer

"Working at the Murray Greenhouse has been the most incredible experience of my life. These kids are some of the most amazing people you could ever meet. Each one has such an amazing spirit and personality. They make me laugh every day and they teach me a lot! I'm forever grateful to them and the Murray"

Kathryn Sorensen – Counselor over Reading & Music

"I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work at The Murray Greenhouse. I enjoy coming to work every day because it is such a rewarding experience to work with these sweet individuals. Not only do I love to interact and teach the participants myself, I also love to watch them interact with each other. They all care for each other so much and greet each other with such excitement. It's truly a wonderful experience to witness and to be a part of the friendships that are created here at the Greenhouse."

Chanelle Murri – Counselor over Life Skills & Science

"Do you know what it feels like to really like your job? Not only like it, but love and anticipate your next day of work? I can say that for me, working at the Murray greenhouse has privileged me to answer "yes" to both of those questions. Not only does each student have the opportunity to learn and grow in a social environment, but the staff does as well. The activities are planned in order to involve and entertain any participant and we are carful to make sure that no one is left out. Attending the Greenhouse has taught me the most genuine respect for individuals than any other experience I've had."
