Greenhouse

The greenhouse will be used to teach work skills to the students who attend as well as provide another means to help Murray Greenhouse be self sustained.  We plan to plant many different flowers and plants throughout the year that the participants will sell to the public on special occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day etc.  We will also grow vegetable plants for the students to transplant into the grow boxes.  They will learn to cultivate the crops and use them in cooking meals.  We may also include a Farmer’s Market as the greenhouse program grows.  We also plan to plant a pumpkin patch in the fall for further sales.

Many thanks to our volunteers!!!

Our Master Gardener - Dave Neeley

DaveNeelyHi,I'm David Neeley.  I am helping with the greenhouse part of the Murray Greenhouse program.  Now recently retired from Jordan School District, I developed and ran the South Valley School Greenhouse program for over 30 years. I have spent my career working with special needs students and have learned a little bit about plants and greenhouses along the way.  I look forward to assisting the Murray Greenhouse Program for many years to come. With both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Special Education, I truly enjoy working with the participants and helping them grow through gardening.
